Italian villas are known for its beauty, splendor and glamorous comfort, and their tradition goes far back into the history of Italy. Already centuries ago, a villa was usually a luxurious house in the countryside built by a family of aristocrats as their second or third residence. It was not the main place of residence - it was common for city people to have at least two villas.
I can always depend on Barbara Conelli to help me with my Italian fix. I don't know what I'd do without her and her love of Italy. Please click on the link to Barb's website. You will be quite pleased. Her books are lovely, too.

Mary, thank you very much for reblogging my post! I know that one day we’ll meet for aperitivo in Milan or Rome… A big hug, my friend!
Yes, I will need research in Italy one day!
